Why I’m Running

Be South Florida’s Voice:

When I’m in Congress every decision I make will be with the people of South Florida in mind:

Life is too expensive for Miamians. We need to rein in prices and make opportunity more available for all.
We need commonsense immigration reform - we should protect our borders but also those who’ve come to our shores seeking asylum from totalitarian governments.
I’ll be a voice in Congress making sure America isn’t trading one dictator for another, just to line Trump’s pockets at the expense of our brothers and sisters.

Clean Up The Corruption:

Washington hasn’t gotten better since Trump took office, it’s worse. We need to clean up Washington. When I’m in Congress, I’ll vote to:

Ban trading stocks by Members of Congress and Senior Government Officials
Reduce the amount of unregulated money flowing into Congress
Make sure the dirty, under the table deals stop.
Set a maximum age of 75 for Federal officeholders. These jobs should not be lifetime appointments. The seats belong to the people.

Take on Trump:

Trump is a threat to our democracy and our individual liberties. I know this man, I know what he’s capable of, and I know he doesn’t want me in Congress. Once elected, I will:

I’ll use the subpoena power to call Trump’s cronies to account for their acts and deeds
Remind the American people every day how important it is to push back on authoritarians who take away our freedoms and silence our voices.
